Behind the data

Official sources. Clear context.

NOAA radar + NWS observations

Hail estimates use NOAA NEXRAD radar, supported by NWS/SPC storm observations.

Check the event’s update time

Storm information can change as new data arrives. Downloaded images and copied posts reflect the figures available when exported.

Weather context for your next step

Hail exposure helps guide research. A property inspection is needed to confirm actual damage.

Common questions

Choose the right starting point.

Which businesses are these tools for?

Roofers and other contractors, real estate teams, insurance agencies, adjusters, property managers and newsrooms. Choose property research, storm monitoring or publishing tools to fit your work; contractor listings have their own eligibility requirements.

Does a free account activate paid services?

No. Detailed reports are ordered separately using paid credits. Contractor listings require separate approval and an active paid service-area subscription.

Can my business follow more than one ZIP?

Yes. The business dashboard supports additional ZIP alert subscriptions. One ZIP is currently included at no charge; additional ZIPs use paid credits and renew every 12 months. Public free email alerts remain separate, with one ZIP per email address.

Do I need to know the storm date?

Not for the free property summary or paid Property Hail History. Hail Event Detail and Full Hail Event analyze a storm date you select.

Can I publish the free resources?

Yes. Use them in newsroom coverage, client updates, presentations or marketing. Keep the map’s event date and legend, along with the included HailGeeks credit and source links.

Does a report use credits if no qualifying hail is found?

Yes. A successfully completed report uses credits for the property research, including a result with no qualifying hail. An unresolved address or undeliverable report is not charged.

Does hail exposure confirm property damage?

No. Maps and reports describe weather exposure. An on-site inspection is needed to assess roof or exterior damage.

Can I add team members to my company account?

Yes. Invite team members with their own logins and assign roles. Permissions control who can generate reports, purchase credits, view billing or manage API access within your company account.
